A COMMONSENSE SOLUTION FOR HEPATITIS C - "Silent No More"
Hepatitis C has often been called the “silent killer.” Many Canadians living with hepatitis C have been silent for decades because they are unaware that they are infected with this life-threatening virus. Many have been silenced by the stigma of hepatitis C. Many have been silenced by the lack of treatment and support. Many are silent because they feel no one cares.
THE SILENCE IS KILLING US.
We cannot be silent any longer. The hepatitis C community is finding its voice. We are speaking out about commonsense solutions that work. Treatments are available that can cure those infected. Awareness and prevention works to reduce the number of new infections, by 50% or more.
We, the undersigned, as members of the hepatitis C community, families and supporters, healthcare professionals and other service providers, concerned members of the community, and elected officials support a commonsense solution for hepatitis C. We urge investment in effective treatment, support, and prevention measures to assure healthier outcomes and improved quality of life for all those with hepatitis C, those at risk for hepatitis C, and all Canadians.
