Thank you to BC campaign supporters

“We are overwhelmed.” When we started this appeal, none of us anticipated that more than 2,000 British Columbians would respond. On behalf of Ed, Laura, and all of us here at the Anemia Institute, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Thanks to you, we have a very strong case for funding for erythropoietin therapy for cancer patients to put before the government.

Also, we wanted you to know the comfort and hope your response has brought to Ed, Laura and other cancer patients and their families. We received many letters and comments expressing similar experiences and gratitude for addressing the problem. If you have a personal story that you wish to share, please do send it to us. We will be taking all of these directly to Minister Bond.

We have heard from a number of the Members of Legislative Assembly indicating their support and intention to push for a speedy resolution of this issue. Given the election, it would be extremely valuable if you could also raise the concern directly with your MLA or other candidates in your riding, either through a personal visit to the campaign office, at a candidate’s event, or “all candidates” townhall meeting.

Again, thank you for speaking up on this very important issue. People like you make a difference.

Sincerely,

Durhane Wong-Rieger, PhD
